Thank you for checking this out! From one of my earlier pieces about them:
I can think of no young musical act today that better captures the spirit of International Women’s Week. While we are gazing at our navels in self pity, these young women are singing on behalf of girls the world over who face silencing and violence for having their own minds. Here are links to two of their official MVs:
“God Allow me (Please) to Play Music” is about people who use religion as an excuse to persecute artists:
The epitome of courage, literally putting their lives on the line to do what they love and bring their message to the world. I did spend some time watching their videos on YT. Fantastic
Can't say enough about bands like this. I have shared their music and hope people realise what the band have had to sacrifice to be able to play the great music they play . Long may Baceprot be noisy. They are another great band who deserve so much more recognition.
It was a blast to see this show with you, Charles! I knew VOB would be impressive, but they outmet those expectations by quite a bit! You didn’t mention this, but one thing I loved about the show (being that I am not a night owl) was that it was over by 10pm!:) Your video clips are much better than mine, though I have a great clip of them covering The Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.” I’ll try and upload it to YT and link it here when I have better wifi!:)
It was fun Steve, and thanks again for alerting me to the concert. It's funny, my crappy old iphone seems to have a great mic. I was going to trade it in last year, but discovered just in time that the sound is better than what you get with some of the newer models. Looking forward to your post!
Wow thanks for the intro to this band! I was mesmerized and awestruck by your videos from the concert and look forward to digging into their music

“Not Public Property” A song about self-ownership, which is still controversial even here in the good ol’ USA:

Agreed, and may the gods keep them safe!
