Not only am I allergic to controversy, but I'm not even gonna bother calling Wenner's statements anything more or other than, simply, stupid. I'll let others parse out the array of "ists" and "isms" they (and he) deserves.
I'd love to see our female writers (and whomever!) come out and, in force, lift up our female artists even more (as you've been doing for months!) in the coming days and weeks.
Wenner's idiocy should be turned around and used as fertilizer for growth.
Hey Brad, thanks for the thoughts! Yes, "stupid" is as good a term as any. The good news is that that people at the HOF were not too dense to realize how stupid his remarks were. The big irony is that if they had been a bigger tent from the start, rock wouldn't be getting marginalized the way it is today. The rock establishment spent decades ignoring heavy metal, hip hop and women, and are now paying the price!
Yep. Here's hoping *Yawn*🥱 was the biggest infected whale in the pool, and now, in his absence, a broader net can prevail for Hall acceptance. I'm starting a kind of week-long "push" to combat his stupidity by Notes-posting a past article that lifts up those artists often marginalized. I whole-heartedly suggest (implore?) you do something similar by putting some of your past printed victories on display!✊🌞
Great suggestion, i haven't used Notes much so I guess it's time to get better acquainted with it. There was mention in the press that the diversity in Hall nominations has been getting better, which is a good sign!
I've met a lot of neat, new people on Notes, not gwine-a lie! I'm willing, though, to risk the possible finger-pointing of "self-promotion" to be that small, still voice that lifts up those whom others would ignore or discount! Join me for the "piece"-ful protest!😁
I know there's nothing wrong with self-promo, and YOU know there's nothing wrong with it (especially on Notes), but there are others who might look slightly askance, but we're on the Wenner mission!😉

Just posted a note, let's see how it goes. From what I see, most Notes combine messaging with a little self promotion, nothing wrong with that.
